Scripps College in Top Ten for Happiest College Students
CLAREMONT, Calif. (April 15, 2010) — Scripps College ranks sixth among the “100 Happiest Colleges” in the nation, according to a new college ranking. Key attributes that put the College in the top ten include “A-grade” campus housing and dining, as well as some of the best weather in the country.
News website The Daily Beast reviewed student quality of life at 149 colleges and universities based on seven criteria including campus housing, nightlife, indebtedness, freshman retention, campus dining, number of student clubs and organizations, and average annual sunshine. Content was collected from College Prowler, U.S. News and World Report, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Three other Claremont Colleges were also in the top ten, including Claremont McKenna, Pomona, and Harvey Mudd Colleges, ahead of such institutions as Stanford, Yale, Princeton, Brown, USC, and UCLA. For the entire list of colleges visit www.thedailybeast.com.
